Hi, my name is Lauren O’Hagan. I am a qualified Dramatherapist who offers support through a humanistic and integrative approach.
Dramatherapy is a creative arts therapy used to achieve growth and change. It works within a ritualistic structure and draws on creative activities, embodiment experiences, and theatre practices to help clients re-imagine, work-through and make changes in their lives. This creative arts therapy is client led and there is a wide range of activities used in a dramatherapy session. These can include the use of stories or myths, music, movement, image making, imaginative play, sensory or action-based activities. At times I bring in breathwork, meditation, self care tools, attachment knowledge and somatic practices.
I am accredited with the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists (IACAT) and the British Association of Dramatherapists (BADth) and am committed to my ongoing learning and regularly update my skills.
I am aware that taking that step towards therapy can be daunting but I work at a pace that suits the clients and use my intuitive and empathetic skills to create a safe space. When talking seems too tricky for people, creative arts therapies are a gentle alternative.
