Hi, my name is Shane, I am a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst based in Limerick. I have an MSc in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, a PGDip in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and a BA in Psychology. I am also currently undertaking a Special Modality Training in Psychoanalysis with the School of Psychotherapy in St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin.

I have worked in a variety of settings including a Suicide and Self-Harm Intervention Clinic, a Divorce and Separation Clinic, an Unemployment Clinic, a Secondary School and several Psychotherapeutic Centres. I have trained in autism assessment, and I am currently the secretary for the Ethnic Minority SIG with the PSI.

I work with all age groups, and I am available for both short-term and long-term work. I have experience working with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal ideation, sexuality, stress, bereavement, and compulsions.

Therapy offers you a safe and confidential space to discuss and explore your situation and you are free to talk about anything that comes to mind. We can discuss coping strategies for the feelings you are experiencing and for any practical issues that you may have.
